Janaka_P, Age 60, 7DW Level 1, Introduction
Hello everyone. I’m here because I decided to take charge of my health. The last straw was developing eczema (dermatitis) 8 months ago that wouldn’t go away. This obvious sign of toxins coming out through my skin, and the helplessness of doctors, caused me to realize that I would only get rid of it by some kind of cleansing program.
A web search on “fasting eczema” confirmed that others thought this way too, and then I found HPS. I always thought to myself that if I didn’t discipline myself to become a normal weight, healty person by the age of 60, then I would start - well I didn’t, so now I am.
I am male, married 32 years, two children, one darling grandaughter. I am 6’ 1” 240 pounds, down from 270 last February and 280 two years ago (my all time high). My biggest health problem now is peripheral neuropathy ( a condition where the nerves seem to fire on their own - stabbing pains and burning pain).
It started 6 years ago, and there is no known cure. The only way I have survived the pain is using Neurontin, and I am REALLY SCARED about going off it (but I am going to give it a go.) I am not even expecting cleansing to help that, but will be amazed if it does. I will be satisfied just to get rid of toxins and elimate the eczema - perhaps help some of my aching joints too.
When I was an aspirant to a Hindu monastery from 1968 to 1972, colonics were utilized. After leaving for the married life, I never got back to them. I ‘ve worked as a high school physics and math teacher, apartment manager, waiter, investment consultant and now am currently managing an Inn for my mother in Mendocino, California, as well as preparing tax returns. Since I live and work in the same place I have the opportunity to maintain health and good habits.
My wife and I formally entered Hinduism in 1978 and have been lacto vegetarians for 25 years. For some time we were following Jenson’s books, but then moved toward Ayurveda. Of course I didn’t get to be 280 just eating healty - guess it was the sweets, cheese and overeating!
I have always regarded Western medicine as having very limited benefit, but in an emergency ten years ago I ended up in the emergency room and lost a gall bladder - they didn’t even seen anything wrong with it when they took it out!
There has been a fair amount of stress woking in a family business, but we have been able to balance that with daily religious observances (pujas) and meditations - although my meditation has dropped off somewhat due to pain and the drugged feeling of Neurontin. If this program helps that, I will be most grateful.
Thanks for reading this, and I look forward to the program and communicating with many of you.
